My Connection

No, this is not about that splendid little icon featured by the predecessors of Windows XP that allowed you and me to connect to the Internet!

Rather, I'm attempting to understand what is it that is each of our most sought connect, the feeling that renders a sense of joy, togetherness, or oneness, that is experienced when the mind engages with that avenue, person or passion!

For instance, I experience a strong yet unspeakable and indescribable connection while looking up at the night sky, something that I can be sure of spending a few hours doing, comfortably away from the maddening chatter of daily chores and the constant hum of cell phones, which I have slowly but steadily and clearly come to detest!

So then, purely for the sake of understanding, what really is your connect? Do write to me about it!

Monday, upcoming, is the festival of Eid and is also the International Day of Peace! I take this opportunity to wish all my Muslim brethren a very happy Eid, one that furthers the common ideology of peace and brotherhood above all else!

Most importantly, for me, it is a day off work! You can imagine my state of bliss already! :)

Have a good weekend all.

  1. I too have enjoyed staring at the star studded sky. But that was long time ago. These days, I turn to blogging and that is the best connection I have got till now.

  5. My best connection...
Hmmmm...It was things about the past! You may wonder why!
Whenever a girl of my age face some stress in their life what will they do?
They will go to their mom and seek advice!
But I lost that wonderful opportunity of being with my mom..So whenever am happy or sad, i will go, stand before her photo, weep continuously! I will remember all those wonderful moments i shared with my mom!

So i am very much connected with my past!!

    Btw, happy weekend ;)
Its a true bliss!! I like your writing.. Am blog rolling you Rakesh!

  11. its so cool that you asked! I had to ponder over it..and I loved the exercise!

For me my connect is looking into someone's eyes while talking. Not staring, but looking. And what happens when the other person is looking straight into your eye as well? That's something that i cant put in words!

  16. I think I connect with loneliness...only me,my thoughts, dreams, sorrows, happiness...it gives me a serene feeling ..especially while you are in a beach..watching the waves and the setting sun or as you said standing on the terrace and looking at the night sky.

In effect, connecting with loneliness is connecting with yourself! Perhaps you meant solitude, which is more of a positive term!
